We are delighted to announce that SmartViz has been selected as a semi-finalist in the Toyota Mobility Foundation’s #TMFSustainableCitiesVaranasi Challenge. This global challenge saw over 80 visionary entries, all committed to reimagining safer, more accessible cities.
SmartViz stood out with its innovative solution aimed at revolutionizing Varanasi’s historic old city, leveraging 3D lidar sensors and machine learning for real-time crowd flow monitoring. Unlike traditional systems, our camera-free, data-driven platform provides city authorities with a dynamic digital twin, delivering accurate insights, predictive modeling, and scenario planning for enhanced urban efficiency and safety.
Led by SmartViz CEO Dr. Shrikant Sharma, a globally recognised authority on crowd simulation and management, our solution builds on over 20 years of experience supporting major events like the Maha Kumbh and Hajj. SmartViz seamlessly integrates with land-use, crowd, traffic and air quality data, addressing Varanasi's pressing challenges while paving the way for a safer, smarter, and greener future.
