Modern slavery policy

The smartviz statement on preventing modern slavery and human trafficking.

Purpose

SmartViz is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships. We strive to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking have no place within our business or supply chains. This policy outlines our approach to preventing and addressing modern slavery, in line with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Scope

This policy applies to all persons working for SmartViz or on our behalf in any capacity, including employees at all levels, directors, officers, agency workers, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and business partners.

Our Commitment

Zero tolerance: SmartViz has zero tolerance for modern slavery or human trafficking in any part of our business or our supply chains.

Prevention and detection: We are dedicated to preventing, detecting, and addressing any instances of modern slavery through robust processes and continuous vigilance.

Compliance: We comply with all applicable legislation relating to modern slavery and expect the same high standards from all our contractors, suppliers, and other business partners.

Key Principles

Employment is freely chosen: No one shall be forced, bonded, or coerced into working for SmartViz.

Fair treatment:All staff are treated with dignity and respect and receive fair pay and working conditions.

Due diligence: We conduct due diligence on our supply chains to identify, assess, and address risks relating to modern slavery and human trafficking.

Training and awareness: We provide training to employees to help them identify and report any potential concerns regarding modern slavery.

Reporting and whistleblowing: Employees, suppliers, and others are encouraged to raise concerns about any issue or suspicion of modern slavery in any part of our business or supply chain. Reports can be made confidentially, and no one will suffer any detriment for reporting in good faith.

Supplier and Subcontractor Responsibilities 

All suppliers and subcontractors are expected to uphold the standards set out in this policy and must:

  • Comply with all applicable laws regarding slavery, forced labour, and human
  • Demonstrate transparent recruitment and employment
  • Allow us to audit and monitor their practices and to take action where issues are
Review and Oversight

This policy will be reviewed regularly and updated as needed to reflect changes in legislation, best practice, and our business operations. Overall responsibility for the policy lies with the Board of Directors, who ensure its implementation and effectiveness.
